Production Version of Juke Nismo at Paris Show
Sept. 28 – Paris – The Nismo logo on the grille is the mark of the new Juke’s racing heritage.
The peppier version of the popular crossover is on display at the Paris motor show. And it is the production version, the actual car that will be in showrooms soon.
On the outside the Juke Nismo has lower front and rear bumpers, as well as a tailgate spoiler. The interior has been given redesigned sports seats and other trimmings
“The Juke Nismo has got a little bit more power than the traditional Juke,” said Paul Willcox, Senior Vice President of sales for Nissan in Europe.
“It’s much more agile and it has got a much more aggressive design. It’s also got a linkage to our motorsport because it has a similar engine to the one we have in the DeltaWing which raced at Le Mans. So we’ve got a fantastic story with this first introduction of the Nismo.”
Nismo has a heritage in racing going back decades.
The track version of the GT-R dominates the Super GT series in Japan.
And now even electric vehicles are being taken to the limits by Nissan’s motorsports arm.
The Nismo leaf RC speeds around the circuit with zero emissions.
Nismo will soon be making as big an impact on the road.
With its special styling and souped up engine the Juke Nismo is just the beginning.
“This isn’t the end of the story,” said Paul Willcox. “The Juke Nismo which we have here today will be complemented by a higher output performance RS version which will come in probably twelve months.”
“We’re looking to bring on more mainstream products, and we’ll see Nismo versions of the 370Z. So it’s a really exciting time for the Nismo brand.”
