The Craftsmanship behind Every GT-R Engine

New York – Mar. 23  A hand-built 3.8L twin-turbo V6 lies at the heart of every Nissan GT-R.

Each engine in the 2017 GT-R is assembled by one of five master craftsman – called Takumi – at Nissan’s plant in Yokohama, Japan.

This is story about what it takes to become a Nissan Takumi and their remarkable precision craftsmanship that is unparalleled by man or machine.

The new 2017 GT-R takes center stage of the Nissan booth at the New York International Auto Show. Live demonstrations from the Takumi will take place through press days, on March 23 and 24. Here is an archived debut of the GT-R’s debut at the show.
