Nissan Middle East organizes Aqdar Drive Safely program

DUBAI, UAE – Nissan Middle East has kicked off a campaign in major universities across the UAE to raise awareness around the dangers of using mobile phones while driving.

The first event, held at the American University of Sharjah, encouraged students to pledge not to use phones while on the road. With every pledge, students were provided the opportunity to add a picture of themselves to a Patrol Nismo that already included images of Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State of Tolerance; and Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Head of the High Commission for the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar.” Several high-profile police officers also took the pledge, an act that symbolizes a unified front to be agents of change.

The activation also involved students driving a golf cart through a crash course while texting, reminding them how difficult it is to mentally concentrate on both activities simultaneously.
